Annual Ann Plater Treasure Hunt
We met at the Millers Kitchen at about 1200 and 14 of us enjoyed a good meal before the rest arrived at about 1330 to start the annual Ann Plater treasure hunt. We were issued the question packs with the instructions to find the three villages, answer the cryptic clues, and spot a few photos. Easy. The three villages we had to locate were 'Thou Sun Lifted', 'Get Belly Chin' and 'Ou Do Two'. Hmmmm. First solve the anagrams.
Having worked out that the villages were South Nutfield, Bletchingley and Outwood, we started off in our pairs up the Bletchingley High Street looking for the answers to the cryptic clues. Some were more obscure than others, but having our answers we then leapt into our trusty motors and disappeared either to South Nutfield or to Outwood depending on how our mental geography worked. Once finished in those locations we moved to the final village and then back to Peter and Margarets for cream tea (or coffee).
After some hard marking by our host, the close winners were John and Christine. The full results are below:
1. 34 points, John and Christine
2= 33 points, David and Sue
2= 33 points, Sheila and Phil
4. 31 points, David and Valerie
5. 28 points, Peter and Jude
6= 27 points, Juliet and Adam

8. 26 points, Helen and Roger

It was good to see Jim and Shirley there for the meal and the cream tea.
The winners were presented with their prizes and the trophy by Martin Plater.
The full questions and answers will be posted later.
